The problem in watching crime thrillers or police procedural dramas is that one tends to start thinking about the mistakes that do the criminals in or the rash stuff innocent folks do that make them suspect numero uno. “Oi! Why would you pick that blood-stained knife with your bare hands?”

This tall tale is me spitballing “evil plans” that I guess would have the investigators thinking.

This idea came when I was watching the reality show Border Security, people think that airport X-Ray machines can be tricked by wrapping stuff in different things. It is an X-Ray machine, if it can see through a suitcase shell, it can probably see through aluminium foil. If you remembered your high school science, you might think of putting stuff in a lead box. This is even more ridiculous. Imagine the airport security scanning your suitcase and can see regular stuff like clothes, maybe a camera and encounters a big black “can’t-see-through” box on their screen. The first thing they do is to call you aside and open up your luggage. The trick here is to blend stuff that doesn’t show as different. How about creating a paper mache doll made of currency bills. Paper Mache involves strips of paper, similar to currency notes. You just need to figure a way to keep the notes clean to be able to get your money back.

PS: I am pretty sure TV/movies are not showing the entire picture. For sure there are technologies and methods that aren’t revealed by any cop (ex/current) or agency which still help in catching the bad guys. There is no perfect crime, unless you are both the perp and the victim.

PPS: Just like a screenwriter who writes a murder mystery is not planning to end someone’s life, these plots are just ideas that may be used in other stories. No criminal intent intended.
